Epoxy

Floor Coatings

Epoxy flooring for basements, garages, shops, medical facilities and supermarkets, coated by a family-owned painting shop on US Highway 151 in Fond du Lac.

What a bare slab does to a working floor

Bare or worn concrete is harder on a business than it looks. In a garage or a shop it dusts, soaks up oil and stains, and is hard to keep clean. In a medical facility or a supermarket the same slab has to be wiped down constantly and still look presentable to people walking across it. In a basement it is simply a cold grey floor that nobody wants to look at.

A coating is the fix, but only if it stays down. Epoxy applied over a poorly prepared slab lifts, because it is bonding to dust, old sealer or residue rather than to the concrete. The preparation is where a floor job is won or lost: cleaning, removing what is on the surface and opening the concrete so the coating can grip it.

Spies Painting owns blasting equipment and runs its own prep operation out of the shop on US Highway 151, so surface preparation does not have to be farmed out to someone else. That is a real advantage on a floor, where the first step decides how long everything after it lasts.

Transform Your Property With Floor Coatings

From basements to garages, medical facilities to supermarkets, we can coat any floor you want. Spies Painting specializes in all kinds of epoxy flooring finishes, and the choice comes down to how the floor will be used and how you want it to look. The finishes we offer are Solid color resinous flooring, Decorative quartz, Chip and flake floor, and Multicolor floors and more.

A solid color resinous floor gives a clean, uniform surface that works in a shop bay or a stockroom. Decorative quartz and chip and flake finishes add texture and color variation, which suits showrooms, entries and places where a floor is part of how the room looks. Multicolor floors let you build a custom blend.

Our own gallery shows what this looks like in practice: a bright shop floor in glossy yellow with a black center stripe, another yellow floor with a black line running through it, a white shop floor with safety striping, and a dark polished floor in a finished interior. Striping and color choices get talked through at the estimate, so you see the direction before any coating goes down.

Turnaround you can judge by a metal chair

Floors are one half of what the shop coats. The other half is metal, and one customer's account shows how the shop works. It is about chairs rather than a floor, but it speaks to the same habits of fast turnaround and paint that lasts.

“My wife messed up a paint job on some metal chairs she bought. Dropped them off at Spies Painting and in two days had them back. The paint job looks awesome and more importantly will last cause of the high quality paint they used!” Bret Johnson, from the Spies Painting website.
